First off, I want to thank everyone who’s support this page via Patreon, you guys who’ve supported the retail version and this website! Luigi, Liz, Trent and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts! (Unless you’re a pirate but we’ll touch upon ALL that later)
So first things first. If you didn’t know, RAGS was never intended to be the commercial retail hit that it is. We always intended this to be a web comic with a small digital distribution as chapters were complete….but wow here we are on our 3rd Printing of issue 1 and a second printing of issue 2! Nut!
Issue 3 both Censored and Uncensored are now available for download via our shopify page. And as always, its available here as a try before you buy.
Speaking of buying, if you see any Patreon Exclusive copy of RAGS on Ebay, don’t buy that shit. Its a pump and dump scam. If you REALLY want those covers and don’t want to pay 5-800$ for a cover you missed out on, hit us up at: firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll hook you up ourselves.
Anyhoo, if you missed out on it, we discussed our plans for the future and all of our lessons learned in the AAR below! Give it a listen!
And as always, thank you for your support! And if things go well, maybe we’ll stick around after issue 7.
Oh my shit people apologies for the lack of updates here but things have turned in a unexpected way and well…let’s get into it shall we?
RAGS retail #1
Our retail launch back in September was fucking amazing! If you hadn’t heard, we legitimately sold out of every last copy ordered. Talk about mother fucking sleeper hit of the year right? This only took about a day and a half. The digital sales have been insane as well! Antarctic Press sold out within 5 hours of turning on the RAGS order page. There was a virgin print variant and those too, went sold like free bags of coke during a Burning Man fest. Seriously all of this happened in a matter of two days. TWO FUCKING DAYS! so yeah that was a fucking gnarly thing to experience! So now we’re getting a second print and those should be hitting shelves in the next few weeks. I’m kinda excited to see where this all goes. Who knows, maybe we’ll actually get a Season 2!?
PIRATES AND ASSHATS!
And now the sad part, unfortunately some lowly cunts have decided that it was completely necessary to pirate our work and re-host it somewhere else without permission or authorization. Spending time hunting down all these places is going to suck up time and resources that we just don’t have as a small team. So with that being said, we’re making a few changes on the back end that’s going to significantly impact future releases and I’m not going to say what those things are.
Well, anyway. If you pirate or steal this work, you’re pretty much a worthless piece of shit human being. You can read the work here on this site for free up til issue 2. Uncensored versions that have already been released are now at $3.99 (Since apparently $1.50 is too much for some people we might as well sell this at a normal price.)
Normal version of the work will continue to be sold digitally at 99 cents.
To everyone that has been supportive of the team and the work, thank you! Thank you so much for making this a HUGE rampant success, even if we’re still small time.
To everyone that’s pirated this work….Eat a dick. You’re a thief.
Hey everyone! We’ve been extremely busy pumping out Issue 2 which is available digitally here and here! And as always once we’ve crossed the 500 units sold threshold we’ll release the Uncensored version digitally. For those waiting on a physical copy, we’re a bi-monthly release from AP, but you can check us out at your local comic shop come August! Head down and pre-order today! Check us out in August!
And now, for the news and updates!
There have been a few questions in regards to whether or not the AP releases will be uncensored. The answer to that is simply: Not at this time. If the censored release is a big enough of a hit, then yeah we’ll go ahead and release the uncensored version in one nice large volume (maybe 2). And I’ll go ahead and say if this is a HUGE success we’ll release future editions of the comic uncensored for everyone. But just in case that people aren’t aware, the decision to keep the comic censored for store release, was so that we could actually be stocked onto shelves and not hidden away in the adults only sections. Some comic shops don’t even have these areas, so keeping that in mind, keeping the book censored gives us a wider release. Meanwhile Uncensored release will be exclusive to Patreon until further release.
So, um, I guess there’s some confusion as to this website being the storefront from which to purchase copies of RAGS. While we’re unsure of how that was misconstrued, we’d like to apologize for the confusion. The places to purchase (digitally) are our Shopify store: New Age Ninja Corps, or Comix Central. There may be a Comixology release sometime soon, depending on whether or not they kick back our PDFs again.
With issue 2 down, we have about 4 more to go! Issue 2 will be the last comic that’ll be placed here on the website so enjoy it for free while its still going. Also, the image above was created by: https://twitter.com/Azriel29665397 go check her out on twitter, or her merchandise store here She’s open for commissions and we like her art. Just check out that gat!
Anyway that’s it for the updates. We’ll try and keep up but with everything else, us continuing to move forward all depends on our level of success.
So, this is new for me. I’ve never reviewed a comic before. I don’t actually read a lot of comics, to be honest. I’m not sure why that is. I love art and I love a good story. I guess I’ve always been a bit intimidated by the sheer scale of the medium and the […]
So I’m sure you’ve heard the news like half a dozen times we’ve been picked up by Antarctic Press!
OMG we’re going to have a barcode!
So what does this mean for us going forward? Well the best news is that our deadlines have significantly been shifted to the right and we’ll probably have to significantly cut or alter some content as, and let’s be honest and real here, some of the heavier shit we planned on doing probably won’t fit for retail and we’d rather adjust fire now than get shit for it. This mainly is going to affect the final issue and how that ending plays out, but I have a plan to ensure that the same themes plays at the end. You’ll see what I mean later on.
Now then the good news. For now, we’re reworking our patreon rewards and goals so that they’re now more in line to what we want to get to. I may now actually consider a kickstarter or an indiegogo campaign to help get us in the right spot.
For Patreons, though, I still will stick to my guns that this will be the only area to which you’ll be able to receive both Uncensored copies of the work and variant covers. And instead of doing the big budget thing, I’m fully committed to utilizing smaller artists that have amazing talents.
